Nike wanted something special to release their Jordan collaboration with NBA star Blake Griffin. They commissioned UK-based artist James Roper to paint Blake in the latest Jordans. Then, our challenge became turning his static painting into motion. Our primary goal was to maintain the subtle, unique style of James’ work while still delivering something suitable for the screen. We worked with a small team of cell animators to create elements we could comp into the scenes.
